Okay where was I.
3) Vienna
From Budapest we took the train to Vienna.
The train ride was pretty intense mind you. At the border somewhere they would stop the train and a whole group of guards would come up (With guns. GUNS GUYS PISTOL SENAPANG BUNUH ) and check our passports and ask us questions.
I know it was normal and for security purposes but considering I can't even go through airport security without feeling like I'm on the wanted list for killing someone, it wasn't a very pleasant experience for me.
I kept on eyeing the gun and when they asked me where I was headed I started to stutter so my sister had to step in and saved my sorry ass and I had to endure her calling me stupid for 3 days straight.
On the train |
Arrived at the city centre and we took the subway and headed to our new home for the next few days.
Definitely had a more modern feel to it as compared to the place we stayed in Budapest.
I like the place we stayed in Budapest because it felt homey and cosy, and it was fascinating to open your windows and actually see other people who really live there go about their normal daily lives, and feel like you are a part of the neighborhood.
This place in Vienna on the other hand, felt more like a hotel and more...fresh?
Which I rather like as well to be honest!
Look at that little reading corner I would like that in my room at home please |
Bathtub = Jakun Level tahap Moksya |
View from the toilet. |
Still not sure if people from across the building could actually see into our toilet or not.
I sure hope not because if they could, well... too late.
Main mode of transportation throughout our stay there |
Okay starting from here, I'm not 100 percent sure if the pictures are from Vienna or Salzburg so I'm just going to dump them all together and you can decide for yourselves if you want.
4) Maybe Vienna/ Maybe Salzburg
Probably Vienna |
Library in Vienna |
What I wouldn't give to have a library like this one day |
In the palace grounds. |
Best apple strudel I have ever tasted. ( found out later on it had alcohol woopsie) |
Not the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted |
Park filled with roses. So magical. I almost felt like tearing up. But I didn't because I was wearing mascara |
Greenhouse in one of the palace grounds if I am not mistaken which knowing me I probably am |
From the outside |
The greenhouse was definitely one of my favorites. Different sections of the greenhouse had different temperatures so they were able to have a lot of different versions of the forests and different types of plants.
It really was beautiful place. Now I feel emotional damn you hormones I would also like pizza.
I think this was Salzburg |
Pretty tree! |
Near the steps where they filmed The Sound of Music |
I think that was the spot where Maria the nun and the Von Trapps were singing Do Re Mi . The steps were actually rather small in real life though.
In the movie it was a lot more grand.
The Cemetery where they were hiding from the soldiers |
Also found a place in Vienna/ Salzburg where you can dress up in those huge wired gowns from the olden days. Of course I had to do it.
I shall not post the pictures of me all dressed up in that big old skirt holding a laced umbrella in order to protect the public's health and avoid deep emotional scarring.
But just to give you a general idea of what it looked like....
Kind of like this. |
PS. Part 3 some other time it's almost 2am woopsie.
